Matt Oubre
I was born and raised in LaGrange, Georgia. I have been around rodeo my whole life thanks to my father who was a champion bull rider and steer wrestler. I started competing in high school rodeo where I qualified to the National High School Finals Rodeo in Springfield, Illinois. I began competing professionally in 2003. I have been blessed to be able to travel across the United States and Canada competing in the sport I love.
I live in LaGrange with my wife Jamie and my son Taylor. I am a full time Firefighter/EMT for the city of LaGrange when I am not on the rodeo trail. I take pride in being a professional in and outside the rodeo arena. Being a firefighter has given me the opportunity to experience what loyalty, compassion and commitment means, just as my rodeo career has. The stamina, focus, practice, training and most importantly commitment is what I strive on and has made me who I am today.
